PROTEST HAPPENED Saturday May 24th
21st May-June 27th 2003 @ Lighthouse Media Centre, Chubb Buildings, Fryer St., Wolverhampton

"If there's something you want to get off your chest, here's your chance. Starting from the Light House Media Centre, where you can register your personal message of protest on a blank placard, this event will then break out onto the streets of Wolverhampton. Following a march around the city centre, all protest slogans from the mundane to the cosmic will be placed on public display at the Light House gallery, along with a video record of the day's events.

Taking a quizzical look at the junction between art and politics, Protest is a timely exploration of people power, and the motivations behind protest."

Protest was part of the Fierce! Performing Arts Festival 2003 - www.fierce.info

Protest was on BBC Radio West Midlands, 95.6fm, June 28th, 7-8pm.
Protest was in the Express and Star newspaper - see clipping here.

Many thanks to:
Mark at Fierce Festival, Nick at the Arts Council, Kathryn, Helen, Henry, John, Frank and all the Lighthouse, Amy, Sian, Brian and Jim for their assistance in constructing the placards, Ana, Stuart and Spence, Leighton for the photography, Inspector Hawkins at West Midlands Police, and everyone who protested.
